Looked around and didn't see any mention here. Prolly missed it. We have a lot of Tulips here on the prairie, in older homes' yards. Wonder if they are tribute to our forefathers efforts. http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/remembrance/history/second-world-war/canada-netherlands
I have always admired the Dutch people, they do not forget. A nice story from today's news. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/liberation-of-holland-70th-canadian-vets-reflect-on-extreme-hardship-1.3052541 and another http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/ve-day-canadian-wwii-vets-feted-in-netherlands-on-liberation-anniversary-1.3060700 Got to stop reading the news. As the son of a Dutch immigrant, and with relatives still living in the Netherlands, they are still very grateful for the Canadian troops that freed them from their oppressors. In fact, my Aunt and some of her children still look after the grave sites of the fallen soldiers, Canadian and others as well.
