    Slightly off topic but this officer was on occupation duty at Sendai 1946-47 but the unit he fought with at Okinawa had been disbanded in 1946. I have seen that both the 11 ABN and 1st Cavalry were at Sendai, was Creel attached to one of these? He later served with the much-maligned 24th in Korea.

    You could try the 11th Airborne Division page to see if he is listed on one of the rosters of the 14 subordinate units. I don't know that they are complete rosters, so if he is not listed that would not mean he did not serve with the 11th.
