    Found this nice picture in my old ammobox wich is full of old familiy photos and documents...Hope its the right place to show it up here...

    By all means this is a nice place to post them. Another possibility would be the photo section in the militaria part.

    I was thinking to Post it First in the photograh and documents sections but now its here..hehe..if needed an admin or mod could Put it in the right section of the board

    Interesting picture - the 'tank' looks to be a Sturmgeschutz III Ausf. F produced from March 1942 onwards.

    Why an F rather than an F/8 or a G ? The superstructure looks narrow but the muzzle brake is covered so I would not bet on L43 rather than an L48

    It could be an F/8 but that, to me...is still an 'F'. I rather discounted it being a 'G' as, despite looking under magnification, I couldn't see the extended towing horns at the front ( although I agree the photo isn't perfect ).

    I would discount the G as well because the two spare road wheels makes me think a narrower superstructure.
