Muscle art! It definitely does look good, I watched the credits a couple of times just for the fun of it. Unfortunately I can't draw muscle art that well...

    But heck!

But it is! I originally intended to draw you one of those berserking Saxons with double-bladed axes, but it failed miserable even when using the tools the artists for MTW used (thick soft pencils and charcoal). So I had to use this one from the archives, which is basically my idea of the looks of a certain fantasy figure (the Dessek). Note that the armor and weaponry of this character would be strange to any place and time in the actual world.

I couldn't resist making a picture that was at least a little bit more MTW style.

Well, since you're asking, the shield design is a bit iffy...
    :D :D :D

I haven't laughed so much in a fair while!

    Good picture...

    Ta Da!

I'm not that happy with this guy though, not because it was made in a hurry, but many things about it don't seem right. Anyways, enjoy it!

    PERFECT!

Even the arabic as im sure Roel knows, the word stands for Halal or 'legal'. As in meat that can be eaten or other such objects that are not forbidden.

Truly impressed Roel, that soldier looks quite historic ;)

Man Roel you draw so bad I thought that was a professional piece of concept art.

(BTW I'm no expert in this but the scabbard looks Japanese)

Ah - that is why I thought it was familiar! It is often to be found on the signs of Luton's many 'Chicken & Chips' fast food outlets. Although most tend to simply write 'Halal' in English characters instead.

Thank you people, too much honour... I'm glad you like it, Desertwolf, cause I don't. Well, not much. Well, thanks to you guys I feel a lot better about it now, actually. ;) :D

The arabic thing was a joke really, it's the only word I know the arabic symbols for, and naturally I got it off a restaurant. :D I could have had the character say Jihad or Allah Akbar or something similar, but I felt the need to insert some silliness. Also, whatever the Saracens would have shouted at the European knights, they would have thought it was a war cry anyway. ;)

Gatsby, the scabbard does look Japanese a bit since it is curved, like the average katana. However, a pattern of crossed leather straps is quite the standard when drawing scabbards. See the first picture I posted in this thread.

Ok Roel i must say im really impressed !!! VERY nice drawing skills you got there !!! 8) All respect for that !! 8)

Now since you draw a Dessek, i was wondering could you draw a very scary warrior, something that looks abit like the Nazgül's from LOTR maby... I bet it would look cool 8)

I can't get an image out of my head now - Saladin's massed warriors streaming in to finish of the exhausted Christian soldiers at Hattin, screaming 'LEGAL, LEGAL'! :D
