Chaplain File

    A Great Uncle was a Chaplain with the US Army during World War II. I received confirmation the archives in St. Louis has a file on him. Is anyone familiar with these files ? It is over 200 pages and the cost is over $150 for copies.

    What information are you looking for, specifically?

    BTW, the Archives are over that way about fifteen miles.

    I thought that information about family who was involved in the different wars was free. Do you have a name Robert of your uncle ?

    Personnel records that are over 65 years old are considered "Archival" and are subject to copying fees even for next-of-kin.
