i think it would be a great idea to have a chat room 8) If it's not to much trouble , if it is I understand. It's a big thing to suggest.

Didn´t Notmi set something up for us ? Now I can´t even remember what it is called, but I believe it was some kind of live chat system.

We should probably agree on a specific time of day to meet there.

    Great News www.phpbb.com

I've been told there are chat scripts on the hyperlinked site provided!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does this forum use the phpBB forum script ? , if this forum is , it's easiest to go to the website provided !!!!!!!!!

This forum is PhpBB but we don't own the root files so there's little we can do with all the helpful hints at those forums.

I found I could get a free chat program with my web host. I've added this to the subdomain and just tried it as admin (nobody else to talk to!).

You would have to register to use this but since it's me it's free :D
For it to work directly from the forum it would need a link created. Meantime the link is http://tanksww2f.chollie.co.uk/chat

If folk dont like or think much of it i'll take it down or can try another they offer.
Skua, Roel and Ricky will get emailed the master log in for admin stuff should they wish.

PS One prob' is it seems easy to get folks email so maybe use a false or spam trap email addy!

The link for the chat is on the homepage is no good. Has everyone dropped this idea?
Would anyone actually be interested in a chatroom?

Quick lesson how to join my irc-channel:
    1) Go to http://webchat.xs4all.nl/cgi-bin/ircnet/irc.cgi
    2) Change nickname to something you like.
    3) Change channel to #panzer.
    4) Click Login

In few seconds, you are joined to #panzer -channel.

The chat linked to in the members lounge and a few posts above is still live. You just need to select the 3rd option down when starting it for it to work. You also need to register for it as it's on a seperate host from this site. (all this info was in the chat thread in the members lounge).

I know some members tried it but never got much feedback on it. Any irc would also work but these are dependant on whoever sets them up goodwill whereas at least with this one Roel, Skua and Ricky have admin rights available when requested for managing the chat.

Still, if it's not wanted or required it can be taken down anytime.

I think if the chat link was near or in the menu , it could be busier , also Im not sure there are enough members in this forum to have a chat that is decently busy.

The only thing I personally would enjoy about a chat is that I work the midnight shift at the jail. There are nights when I'm not overly busy, when I get on one particular chatroom from another forum.

What's nice is that especially on the weekends, I might be able to catch a few of your European types early in the morning. I believe the time difference between here and the UK is five hours. So, if I was available around 0400 my time, it would be 09 or 10 for many of you, and I'd have the chance to chat directly.

Beyond that, I'm personally happy with just checking threads. I know, kinda dull...
