It seams to be being advertised a lot on banner adds particularly for this forum. I went to the home page but got a funny feel from it. Has anyone tried it or got any impressions?

It looks like one of the hundreds of browser-based games that use real-world clocks, e.g. in most games building a house takes seconds, in these games it takes hours.

    Boring

Wow, I have seen it on most pages here, other WW2 websites like SMLE said, i-am-bored.com, pretty much everywhere. How strange.

Well I have been playing it for a while and it seems OK, and is better than most browser based games. If anyone is interested I am in World 3 and my name is PzKpfwIII.

You have three views-town, city and map. Town is where you build buildings (Houses, barracks etc). City is where you build resource collecting buildings and map shows all the other cities nearby you.
    It's quite simple really.

It's not really, like most browser based games (I must confess most browser games are boring) you set the construction and then do something else in the meantime.

There is an advanced combat element, which unlike most browser based games it's not just numbers. You need a hero to attack other cities, and their rating affects battles. You will also perform better in battles if your technology is of a higher standard. Technologies can be researched.

Yeah thats what I thought, even the little workmen are the workers from Age of Kings.

But it is rather...an addictive game.

Civony is a cool game, but with a lot of timed tasks running in many different sub-menus, which costs players a lot of time clicking to switch between GUIs and menus.

To try and solve solve that, I made this web application where users can easily enter all their timers and have a small alert play when count down reaches zero. It let’s me concentrate on other stuff, while Civony is running in the background. The audio cues notify me when my attention is needed in the game.

Try it, it’s easy and free and may save you some time clicking :D
