So, What's your favorite weapon in my personal favorite WWII game, Call of Duty: World At War?
Mine is the Double Barreled Shotgun. It's an incredibly powerful weapon, and if it doesn't kill an enemy with one shot, it stuns them long enough for you to use an sweet (and satisfying) melee move.
    My other favorites are:
-M2 Flamethrower, since it's very handy in clearing out bunkers full of Japanese soldiers and the flame can set the environment on fire, also useful for clearing out hiding enemies.
-Arisaka Bayonet, since nothing beats the feeling of a good melee attack. With this gun you can make your own Banzai charges!

By the way, I've only played single player, so thats what I'm basing this on.

I only play MP right now in the game, and must admit to preferring the STG44 - unmodified - for combat. I prefer the Kar as a Bolt Action, with either a Scope or Bayonet attachment, and of course my Betties!

Yep Betties are a necessity for any MP match. My favorite weapon depends on the map. Makin at night or day I may use a MP-40 with a silencer and camouflage. Dome or Asylum I will use the MP-40 with a round drum. Though sometimes I enjoy running around dome with nothing but my .357 magnum. Roundhouse I use the BAR. Airfield, Seelow, and Cliffside I prefer the STG-44 usually silenced and with camouflage, but will use it without any perks

You all need to fill out the gamer information in the Sim/Gaming Section (especially if you play on the PC).

    I highly recommend WAW.
Definitely buy it. It's an awesome game, with many fun levels and, from what I've heard, great MP. :)

Sorry about the double post, but you should really try singleplayer. It's intensely fun, and another thing I highly recommend.

You're talking to the Gaming Guru here! You don't tell me what to do, I tell you!

I've beat the game SP which is why I strictly play MP now - its much more fun to play against other people rather than AI.

First, I love SP. It's tons of fun, and a worthwhile experience. :)
Second, I don't have PSN, so I can't play MP, except in co-op. Oh, well.

Playing FPS on a CONSOLE = bad
Playing FPS on a PC = Amazing

Anyway, this is not a PC/Console debate, this is a favorite weapons debate, so please refrain from this bickering.

I'd be interested in seeing how the 'handling' with each weapon is different between the Console/PC versions of the game and compare to the changes (if any) of the multiple PC patches that have been released.

    Yes, that does sound interesting...
It's not that I wouldn't play CoD on PC, it's just that I have a Mac.
I can understand liking PC's more, since they have more accurate aiming, so I've heard.

I just found a very interesting site:
Category:Call of Duty: World at War weapons - Call of Duty Wiki - Call of Duty weapons, characters, levels, and more

It's from CoD wiki (which I just discovered), and it lists all of the CoD:WAW weapons. Check it out. :)

Ah Musso you've got it the wrong way round:vegetate:

As for the original question probably the DP-28, Type 100 or SVT-40.
Treyarch botched up a lot of the guns and how they played though compared to the original cod games (Infinity Wards). Like the M1 Garand, that used to be one of my favourite guns, now I can't even use it.

STG-44 with telescopic scope and Mosin-Nagant, with no attachments. I cant snipe with a scope on. I can with it off.
If I am feeling noobish I have an FG-42 with scope too. And sometimes the Type 100.
