Looking forward to this. Expecting more lefty embarrassment regarding the Russia/Trump nothingburger.

Today lefty was again disappointed when there was ZERO testimony against God emperor. Lol. Wish I could watch The View tomorrow, just to see woopee and joy :( ...
Tomorrow will put an end to the nutty left and their equally nutty rhetoric regarding Trump. (How's Hillary doing - poor thing).

    What is Hillary's favourite pizza?
    Little Seizures.

    Regarding the hilarious Cathy Griffin-
Would bet those old men holding her down weren't doing it for sex.

Hillary phoned the president's office shortly after midnight. “I need to talk to the president, it’s an emergency!”, exclaimed Hillary.

After some cajoling, the president’s assistant agreed to wake him up. “So, what is it that’s so important that it can’t wait until morning?”, grumbled Trump.

“A Supreme Court Justice just died, and I want to take his place.”, begged Hillary.

“Well, it’s OK with me if it’s OK with the mortuary.”, replied President Trump.

Except this is not about Russia/Trump...

There was ZERO testimony on Wednesday, however Comey did release his prepared testimony, which will be used as the basis to generate questions when Comey actually testifies.

As opposed to Trump's favorite pizza from Papa Putin's?

How come you have been abnormally silent on the Kushner/Trump pay-for-play scheme in China? You loved to excoriate the Clintons on their scheme, but only silence concerning Kushner/Trump...Why is that?

McCain is on the committee and his questions might be the most profound. Otherwise I suspect that 90% of the other Senator's will ask only partisan questions that will provide much smoke and little enlightenment.

Here's what bugs me about the whole thing. Democrats, and congress in general, along with all the swamp creatures, are going insane about Russian interference in the election. Yet, after exhaustive investigation it is clear that the Russians did not effectively interfere with the election.

However, somebody did tilt the election. If you look at the close results in some states, and the big shift to Trump in the last days of the election you have to ask "What could have tilted so many of the electorate?" And there is only one answer to that; James Comey's letter to Congress about the new Hillary email scandal just days before the election, in effect that Abedin had transferred "hundreds of thousands" of classified emails to Anthony Weasel, I mean Weiner. And what of those? It turns out there were about ten, and none were classified. So, why did Comey make a huge deal about that on the eve of the election, and why does he get a pass for this huge lie?

It goes on from there. Comey testified under oath to congress that 'hundreds of thousands' of classified emails were transferred to Weasel. Then, a few weeks later he testified once AGAIN that there were "hundred OR thousands" of emails, again perjuring himself before congress. This time it was so embarrassing that persons in the FBI went AROUND Comey and released a 'clarification' that in fact, there were only a few emails, and none of them were classified.

There are no Russians hiding in the White House bushes, there is only swamp creature Comey, so arrogant and ingrained into the swamp fabric that he thought he could screw both sides and come out bullet-proof, maybe considering a run for president himself in 2020. He miscalculated and got fired, but it still amazes me that he can continue to perjure himself without charges and come out as a "victim" instead of the swamp turd that he is.

Well when one screws up as badly as they did and really don't want that out in the open pointing fingers at anything and everything else is a pretty well established tactic. The fact that Trump is doing the same thing is making it more effective for both sides and doing a very good job of obscuring both the facts and what are arguably the more important points.

Yeah, while Trump is a lot closer to my point of view politically, he is not getting anything done. Character counts, but we haven't had a president with character since... well, not in my lifetime. And the Republicans in Congress? If this was 1863 they'd be debating on whether the Army of Northern Virginia was trying to hack the telegraph lines in Pennsylvania. Committees and subcommittees would be formed. The Czar would be sent angry letters. General Lee would be asked to appear and give testimony. Somebody might even wake up John McCain, who was a much younger man then.

If this was 1863, they would still be debating on whether or not to leave the Union...

Anyway, I can only wonder what McCain was drinking when he was watching the Diamondback's game, as it looks like he was feeling the aftereffects at today's hearing.

1863 was two years into the war, Lee was deep in Pennsylvania and the Republican congress was doing what Republicans do - packing their valuables to get the hell out Washington for summer recess. Except for McCain, because he was asleep, only waking to babble incoherent rants about imperial Russia.

This is a complicated situation, but I must disagree with your conclusions. Look there are no clean hands here and it is both absurd to claim that Russia played no part or that Comey is the sole perpetrator of a possibly tainted election. Indeed it has been a long chain of events, each building on the other to bring us this tangled mess.

It began with Hillary Clinton's near Nixon like paranoia and secretiveness that led her to break protocol and install a private server in her home that lacked the security a government run set-up would have provided. Even if it had been breached, it would not her fault as it was government run, but clearly her's and the DNC/DCCC accounts were. The Obama administrations lackadaisical approach to countering Putin's provocations in Crime, Eastern Ukraine and other areas did nothing to curb Russian ambitions.

Then there is Free Willies tarmac stroll over to Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch's plane for a 'chat' while Hillary was being investigated by the Justice Department played its part. He was too savvy to not know better, and she (and her staff) also should have been too savvy to allow this to occur, yet somehow it does. This 30 minute gabfest forces Lynch to recuse herself from the investigation and placed Comey in the hot seat where he, and not her, would decide when, where and how he would communicate about the investigation. Obama/Justice Department could have appointed a Special Counsel or Prosecutor to oversee this investigation, but elected to leave Comey in this quagmire as the official point man on the cusp of a election.

Did Comey make mistakes, almost surely, but no FBI Director has ever been in such a situation to the best of my knowledge. A election hung in the balance, one where neither primary candidate was particularly well liked or respected by half the country. I have participated in every election since 1980 and I have never seen one more venomous then this last one and suspect that nothing Comey could have done would appease everybody. Considering that both Democrats and Republicans are unhappy about him and his actions might signal that he was closer to the middle course than partisans are willing to acknowledge.

There would be no Comey letter to Congress if there was no hacking of Clinton, Podesta, DNC, DCCC emails and every reputable Intelligence source states that Russian fingerprints are on these hacks. So how can it be said that Russia plays no part in our election if the leaks were integral to Comey's actions? You can't have one without the other.

Then there is Trump's Russian quagmire. One near incestuous relationship would be bad, but 4 in close succession is too much to ignore. First there is Manafort's links to Russia, then Flint's, followed by AG Sessions (who now has recused himself ala Loretta Lynch) and most recently Jarrod Kushner's questionable actions and communications. Combine Trump's unwillingness to release his Taxes as every President has done for the 50 odd years and his actions that pump up Putin's Russia, while constantly undermining relations with our oldest and most reliable allies indicates that either he is a fool, suffering from dementia or someone who is a unwitting agent of the FSB and Putin's lacky.

I did not vote for Trump, nor did I expect him to serve a second term, but at this point I'm having trouble seeing him finishing out his first term.

Yes, you are correct that there is a lot of bad hits in Hillary's campaign, the largest one being the totally exposed hack job on Sanders campaign during the primary by the DNC, then questions passed to her prior to the debate. Then you had Hillary's private server which was hacked by at least 8 foreign entities. Worse, was Podesta having all the dirt in his phone which was protected by the password "Password." That Podesta hack could have been perpetrated by any 12 year old, and it contained a mountain of emails from her senior staff, most of which were insulting to her intelligence, character, complete lack of morals or any semblance of self control.

Even with all that dribbling out, she still maintained a lead right up until Comey threw a hand grenade into the process six days before the election. That was the final straw when you saw the big shifts to Trump, and that was due to Comey and his election hand grenade tossed out about the Abedin/Weasel emails, which he characterized as thousands of classified documents in the hands of a child molester. A one or two percent shift in votes (due to that lie) put Trump in the White house. And again, Comey perjured himself twice before congress with continued claims of thousands of classified documents when there were ten unclassified documents. This was so appalling to the rank and file of the FBI that they released a 'clarification' that it was only ten (or twelve according to the source) unclassified documents. That lie (thousands of classified docs) was still being passed under oath to congress, months later. That is perjury.

To put this further in perspective, in the Hillary email investigation, Comey allowed the Hillary campaign to smashed dozens of hard drives containing criminal evidence (clearly obstruction of justice), then scrub all their other hard drives with software that blocked the FBI from looking into the other emails and documents, and theh Comey pretended this wasn't obstruction of evidence (a felony) - and all of this after Lynch had ordered Comey to drop everything after her private meeting with Bill Clinton.

In essence, I think Comey just played ball with the DNC and Hillary campaign right up until it became a national scandal, then threw that last minute Abedin/Weasel hand grenade to pretend he was being neutral.

His title, percs and arrogance were more important to him than just doing his job. Trump should have fired him on January 20th and opened a DOJ investigation into those actions.

Comey tilted the election, not Putin.

As I recall in the last 4-6 weeks of the election there were concerns that the polling methodology was under question and might not reflect the opinions of a balance of voters. More to the point you list several instances where Comey seems to act in favor of Hillary, yet one single act hurting her was enough to tip the election?

How is this putting things into perspective? No hard drives were smashed, only - for certain - two cell phones, however, you are correct that hard drives were wiped.
But both of these things occurred months before the FBI even became involved in the issue.

If the FBI was not yet involved...Why are you blaming Comey for this loss of data?

Perhaps, for your next trick, you will also blame Comey for the JFK assassination...

Perhaps Mr. Covefe should have told Everybody to leave the room.....except for the Chairman.
At this point, it comes down to who is more credible..... a person like James Comey, or Don Trump.?
The real story, per usual, is being kept from The Public. We would need to hear the "closed doors" testimony to get at the bulk of the truth.

You are incorrect. Hillary (her campaign) was under criminal investigation by the FBI, though they had not yet requested the hard drives, which brings up a number of questions in itself about the supposed 'independent' investigation by Comey. Those drives should have been the first things seized. All of the witnesses questioned by the FBI had the questions submitted to them in advance, and then were allowed to have legal counsel with them, which is UNHEARD of until an arrest has been made. As for those drives, congress had subpoenaed them which also has the force of law, which is why they were smashed and scrubbed. Furthermore, DNC (which was in effect, the Hillary campaign) had committed a number election of felonies against Sanders, and those too were ignored.

There is no doubt in my mind that Comey had acquiesced to Lynch's demands to whitewash the Clinton investigation, then at the end of the election threw a few hand grenades to muddy the water since his career (in his arrogant mind) was far more important than an honest justice system.

That's a funny history brain twister, if you know history as well as you and I do. I've watched 45 years of these hearings, so I didn't bother watching. Still sorry I missed the McCarthy red scare hearings on TV but even though we were relatively wealthy, or so I remember one of my play dates tell me. We were living in a brand house built with GI financing and on dad's GI bill stipend while he went to college for free. I think it was that I had a pop gun, hatchet, rocking horse with real hair, fire truck pedal car, Davy Crockett coon skin cap, Hopalong Cassidy two gun holster with cap guns and a replica of Hoppy's neckerchief and slide.

Back on the hearings. I read the reports and it was as I expected. No Perry Mason moments gotcha moments. Whatever the truth is it will come out.

Soon hopefully. I did my recon here but was still a bit confused about this forum and where my thread might go best. After I posted here I sent a PM to OTTO and asked him to suggest the best thread to share my WWII research and in return get help research help. Bonus is I get to stay here and be a good citizen with you guys. I hope. I'm in another political forum that is un-moderated and over run with trolls. I go there to study trolls and try to kill trolls by getting them banned. Took me a year to get one. Only the 2nd troll to get banned there in over 15 years. RLTW!!!!

Anyway if you are interested, as I am, in studying WWII, from Africa to Oslo from the perspective of the guys doing the killing and dying, stay tuned.

Now back to your originally scheduled discussion. Time for lunch.
