The new security thing only stops non-humans from logging in, so any actual person acting as a spammer can still log on. However, the sheer volume of spammers is way down now, and we delete them as we find them.

 

As you may have noticed, we are having a bit of an upsurge in Spammers registering or just posting as guests. Probably just because it is the Summer Holidays, and people have too much time on their hands...

We are deleting, locking etc as we find it.

Yeah, right now I am removing any new member with a website in their profile and no posts made. I'm very sorry if there are serious contributors among them that simply haven't gotten around to replying anywhere yet, but I really don't feel like getting a heap of spyware on my PC checking all their websites for questionable content. Nine out of ten will have doubtful website URLs or usernames anyway, like the one above.

I just removed about a dozen.

Yet another 1 bestsexinfo. One of the lowest forums of avertisment if you ask me. Actually pretty much all of them have urls and never post after that.

 

Looks like the admins have their hands full deleting a many of those I see them pop up daily.

Ignore them, it seems unlikely that they'll go away so just ignore them until the admin delete them.

A suggestion to reduce those odd topics by people who post nothing but the opening post.
Instant deletion of new topics unless you've properly introduced yourself first.
...or something similar, I'm no expert with websites.

 

You can't really force people to introduce themselves if they only have a single question or query at first. Usually the spam topics can be easily spotted, it's the spam profiles that give us trouble. Not so much anymore, though, because of a few new measures taken by Christian.

 

It should now be near-impossible for automated spammers to sign up.
