    I had considered doing an aircraft spec. But that will be next time if I get another chance to specify.
    For this one you should all dig out your old school books and use the doodles you did when you were bored....

    Republic of Gemarian Free States
    Date: Summer, 1936.
    Situation: Loqator is getting feisty again, but this time they've bought some of those new-fangled tank things that seem to be so popular with "modern" armies. Our chief of staff has looked very carefully at what other nations are doing and decided that, since we've had a good few years on the budget, we're going for the best. And we've been particularly impressed with Russian and British vehicles that seem to be able to do everything, all at once.

    Specification:
    We require a combat vehicle capable of a minimum of 12 mph on roads, 8 mph cross-country.
    It must be armoured sufficiently against near-misses from 75 field guns and direct hits from 20 mm cannon at 1000 yards. Ideally it should be resistant to larger calibres from the front.
    Small arms resistance all round at 100 yards is required.
    The vehicle shall be capable of the following:
    1) engage two (minimum) separate targets at not less than 1000 yards with high-explosive shells of at least 75 mm, ideally larger, both at the same time;
    2) engage infantry in two (minimum) separate directions, at not less than 500 yards, both at the same time;
    3) engage one (minimum), or two or more (ideally) armoured targets each at the same time, each in a different direction. These targets will be expected to have 15-20 mm of armour. Engagement range should be 500 yards, and preferably 1000 yards.
    A wireless communication system would be an advantage
    Minimum road range before refuelling should be not less than 60 miles (on road).

    I'm Germany

    Muhahahahaha!

    (The predecessor for the Pz.Kpfw.IV was initiated in the twenties, and the Tiger in 1936, so I have plenty to work with)

    Monday 19 the December is the due date. Which will probably slip. And then the winner will have to consider the effects of Christams pudding, unwrapping presents, family visits cutting in to design time etc for the date of the next one :D
    So far I have visions of a double-size Char 2C and a lengthened PIV with half a dozen Tiger turrets. This one should be interesting.

    Russia here!

    A question, Oli:

    Will it have to engage all those criteria at the same time (6 different weapons, basically),or be able to engage all of them at separate occasions?

    Sorry, maybe should have specified better. Absolute minimum of two weapons, but if you hadn't guessed the
    are the T-28/T-35 and T-39 (experimental) and the A1E1 Independant and Vickers 16 tonner.
    What I'm hoping (is that the right word???) for is -tween wars monstrosity of value only to students of idiocy as a tank design policy :D
    But it might be useful in a mini-campaign I'm working on.

    So short answer - minimum of two weapons/ turrets, but ideally we'd like to be able to engage all targets at the same time.
    I'm looking fiorward to some really ugly efforts... so ugly the French would "jolie-laide" :smok:

    Of course. I don't think it was ever actually specified, although it may have been assumed, that it would be one team per country.
    Historically there's certainly enough precedent for multiple entries from the same country - just different firms/ design teams.
    Go for it!
    (I'm sure we've had more than one team from the same country in a previous game, although I think the "other" teams may not have submitted due to other commitments).

    That is the way it has been in previous games. There have been two Germanies, RiRo and CSP in the AA tank game, for example.

    I would like to try Britain this time if Ricky agrees. All you other teams will have a headstart though.

    Ricky! Get a connection at home or else! :D
