Well, it won't tell you anything much that's new. Also, IMPO it certainly overdoes the PC-guilt-trip angle. But there was some stuff I hadn't seen before, including contemporary footage of Gibson and also his wife, Eve. Very interesting to be able to see and hear these people. Also some poignant views of the near-derelict RAF Scampton of today ; tragic for such a historic place. But the documentary is nicely made, and well worth watching.
The Dambuster story has been researched in such depth now that it is very unlikely anything 'new & sensational' is going to come to light. What becomes even more apparent as time goes by - and it was fully acknowledged in the programme - is just what an incredible 'feat of arms' it was. As shown, presenter Martin Shaw and his combat-experienced RAF pilot actually had a tough time navigating across Holland at low level, in broad daylight and with no enemy in sight.......
