    Also the first fighter with an ejection seat. Hmm, I wonder why? :)

    I don't know that I'd fancy dodging the tomato slicer at the rear without an ejection seat. When I visited Silver Hill back in the late 60's there was one of these there in pieces. I believe it went back to Germany for a rebuild [I think I heard that in the narration also - my German being extremely rusty].

    actually the NJG 1 He 219A was the first to use the ejetion seat-both of them (2) and in combat conditions some successful some not ........ google Otto Fries as an example and find out about his jumps.

    ...thought the He 280 was the first one fitted with and to use an ejector seat ? .....
