I was wondering if any of you esteemed Gents here remembered or ever watched that Tv series? It had Lee Majors in it as: "The Fall Guy." Anyway, I just picked up the first season of it and if you want some great escapizm, that show will do it for you. I started watching it last night and had forgotten how much fun it was to see it again. Are any of you guys here, fans of that show? If so, you can get both halves of the first season sold at Wal-Mart for about $40 bucks and some change. Best regards--Carl.
I remember it but never watched it. I think it was on during the time in my life I was working 3-11, plus I didn't watch much TV then anyway.
Hi Jeff, Ike, Jeff, if you get a chance to watch it-it's well worth it. I don't know how many seasons it ran but, it was a very well made TV show. Back in my earlier years (B.C.) that's - Before Computers etc ;-)) My family watched our fair share of television but only after all chores and homework was done. Anyway, this was on at a time when shows like: The "A" Team, Magnum P.I., Simon and Simon, Murder She Wrote, The Master, Riptide, Airwolf, Dallas etc etc were on. This show was about a stuntman who did "side jobs" as a Bountyhunter. His Nephew aho was one who bounced around from college to college, came to work and live with him. The Fall Guy also had a young beauty (Heather Thomas) who was sort of like hired help and a student of sorts that he was teaching all the tricks of the trade at being a stuntman for the movies. The show is a 1-hr show and during the series run, it had a good many "A" list actors on the show-either in cameos or as guest stars. The pilot episode is 2 hrs long (actually about 90 or so minutes) and had James Coburn in a cameo, and Eddie Albert as one of those "Bail-jumpers" that the fall guy had to chase and catch. I think in the later seasons, I THINK Markie Post took over the role as the lady who ran a bail-bonds business. Ike, yup your correct about Heather Thomas being in it as the "Sex Symbol" of the show. The Fall Guy's helper was; Doug Barr.
I tell you one thing, then, Heather thomas sure was a beauty. ;-)) I had a crush on her when I was younger and she still anit too bad to look at.
I not only remember the show... I still remember the entire theme tune too. I sometimes wish I could forget . Cheers, Adam.
Richard, if you get the chance-watch it. I'll tell you one thing. Heather Thomas sure aged much better than Carrie Fisher did. I think Carrie Fisher had a drinking problem - which does not help one to age well. Glad to see that she did kick her addiction. Anyway, IMO, Heather Thomas is prittier than Farrah Fawcett. Oh and the reason I mention her too, is because she was once married to Lee Majors and went under the name of: Farrah Fawcett-Majors. I also normally do not pay any attention to who is married to whom but, this was a big thing way back when.
Hi Adam, sorry you don't like that show. Oh and, just for everyones info, the theme to the series was not sang by Lee Majors but was sung by the man who wrote it-Glen A. Larson - who also wrote or co-wrote that show among tons of others. Hi Richard, Scott, yup I fully agree with you, they don't seem to know how to make any decent shows these days. A few years ago, I gave up on watching most any new series and is why im buying as much of the older stuff as I can afford. Im almost ready to give up on cable Tv as well.
I remember it. Even remember the episode where Markie Post[of Night Court fame] made a guest appearance. Markie Post Photos
Yup, Heather Thomas and the other Heather, Locklear, were the only reasons to watch that show and TJ Hooker.
Ah, TJ Hooker... we used to love it as kids when you caught a glimpse of Shatner's corset. Some 'classic' Shatner: YouTube - William shatner in Lucy in the sky with diamonds (sadly I can't find his rather shocking version of Mr Tambourine man, which is arguably worse than even that) Carl, not so much the Fall guy programme I object to as the fact I can't get the damned signature tune out of my head for days after it's mentioned, childhood television can be powerful stuff . Cheers, Adam.
You sods, I had to hear the song again, now like Adam it's stuck in me head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxAf1HQOB_Y
Heh heh, sorry about the "torture" your going through but, just think about Heather Thomas and it will all go away.............
