    Hello,

A friend of mine found a dog tag on a beach here in France.
    Identifiaction details are:

    David
    MILLER
    MYER
    285 52 68
    USNR O
    T 12/43 P

Could you tell me more about this, and may be a way to find the family of David MILLER MYER and give them back this dog tag ?

    Thanks.

Looks like he was KIA. I have no date, though.

    He was a S2c on LST 376 in 1944.

Never thought to look at Find-a-Grave or Navsource. Thanks, Tommy.

    Hi,
That's exactly what I found through Ancestry and find a grave.

I'm trying to find members of his family now :)

Well, we were just answering the first part of your original question. Since his marker is in RIchland County, Ohio, you may want to try contacting:

The Richland County Historical Society via Facebook or their website or maybe the Ohio Genealogical Society. They may have resources that aren't available online.

Or you can try contacting the American Legion Auxiliary in Bellville, OH on their Facebook page.

Thank you for those contact points. I will contact them.

Also, I found a David's second once removed cousin on ancestry. He worked hard on the Myers family tree. He sent me a picture from David with the Bellville football team. This is so moving to see the picture of a man who came on a french beach to fight for freedom...

Thank you for your help :)
