a new site from the Dutch Air-War group.....oh Stevin ! from friend Jaap Woortman www.airwar39-45.nl especially interesting is their links page and the research box and if you double click the Luftwaffe, go to Luftwaffe handbook and you will have a feast ! not just for Luftie buffs either. If you have wanted to contact many sites dealing with deceased, missing and just plain, are "they still alive ?", this section can be a real plus in helping a person decipher the many organizations that house these materials. updated Luftwaffe organization contacts too....Fallshirm as well as fighter units. enjoy and watch for updates ~E
Thanks for that one Erich! I hadn't seen that site yet. I am a member of this Study Group. Have mailed Jaap on several occasions, mainly to try and supply him with tidbits of information I found for his research project on Dutchmen in the Luftwaffe. The handbook was available as a PDF and has been VERY useful to me. And as you said; not just for Luftwaffe research! Have the site in my Favorites!!! Thanks again Erich! PS: Have you ever been able to find out how that Gradnetzmeldeverfahren really works? I got a luftwaffe map of France and Tunisia and that is helpfull, but would like oine for Germany. Pretty hard to find though! PS2: How annoying that the Bodenplatte page is stil 'under construction'! PS3: Check that Pic on the Dutch Crash register page! WOW! [ 24. yes it is a very cool site ! you're right about the map quadrants......way too confusing and no-one has ever been able to really explain things to me, not even the vets. I have two Night fighter maps of Germany/Holland and part of France with the letters/numbers and it still stumps me... ~E and congrats on the fighter group book....
Very interesting site ! As an aside, what is it about the Dutch that makes them such great enthusiasts ? I'm not being patronising here ; I think it's really admirable . Some years ago I was a member of a European car club - the most enthusiastic section ? The Dutch ! I really enjoy my membership of the Hartenstein Airborne Museum - the enthusiasm and research is brilliant ! And now the airwar.... Come on Stevin - enlighten us !
Not airwar, and apologies if its been posted before, got to agree with Martin, some pretty good Dutch sites out there.. http://www.dutchsubmarines.com/
