I saw the film yesterday, the fight scenes at the end are okay, aside from that... its terrible! Huge contrast to the book. It proves that one mans imagination scribed onto paper goes further then millions of money spent to do less of the effect for more of the effort.

    Anyone agree with me here?

The movie is Ok-but the imagery conjured up in the book by one's own imagination is far better than the big screen managed to pull off.

Exactly. The character they have got playing SS-Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler is not on.

Has anyone read the sequel, "The Flight of the Eagle"? I saw the book and should have purchased it. It is about Michael Caine's character not dying and Himmler sends a mission to save him. As for the film "The Eagle has landed" I like when they play the music during the battle. It is a catchy tune. They should have left out Larry Hagmen's Character. what an idiot.

I have read "The Flight Of The Eagle" and it sais Steiner didn't die, he is sent to be held prisoner in a convent (?) and Himmler sends Devlin to get him back.
