In a much-appreciated ( by UK armour enthusiasts ) effort, the US Elefant has been shipped across the Atlantic for temporary display ( along with Tiger, King Tiger x 2 and Jagdtiger ) at the Tank Museum.

Yesterdays' Tiger Day wasn't the most ideal to photograph the exhibit ( with hundreds of people milling around ) but a little patience had its reward......

Impressive - and something I never thought I'd get to see.

She looks a lot better than the last time I saw her at Aberdeen many years ago.

Now is this the one where the inside is nothing but a hollow shell?

AFAIK, this was an exterior restoration, no interior work was done. Have not seen any photos, but the interior probably does not look pretty.

    I like the wooden chock.
Would maybe indicate free rolling but no brakes.

Have a feeling the Aberdeen Elefant might have at least some interior, but a Canuck site that had some good shots of it has fallen off the web,
Bov themselves say an attempt was made to sabotage, but I don't recall how thorough that was,

Lovely shot of it under new management:

And I think this is it bearing a booby trap warning:
