I have done a few myself over the years at a local hobby shop, the most recent being last week. My 1/35 Panzer VI Tiger (late version) took second place in the armor category. It was a solid Tamiya kit where my only out-of-kit modifications were an antenna and a crew (Dragon). I also entered a 1/16 Afrika Korps Heer machine gunner which took first place in the Miscellaneous category.

My Tiger was beat by a Panther G with a rather fancy airbrush job. Definitely some quality entries though. My past entries have included a halftrack, a Sherman, a US SP gun, several figures, as well as an ME-109 that I am still quite proud of as it is not often that I do aviation kits.

Any other competitors? Possibly on a national scale?

'Fraid not, Miller ; my own abysmal efforts in the past were so embarrassing that I now stick to diecast ready-made...

But I thoroughly enjoy seeing the efforts others put in to these models and as Ta says, if you'd like to post some pics here I'd love to see 'em....

Martin: those diecast kits are very nice. The said hobby shop just got a rack full and I was very tempted to buy one.

As for pictures I'm going to try to post some soon.

    Martin,
What kind of die-cast? I'd rather collect die-cast as well. I've got about a hundred Postage Stamp Airplanes from this company:

All are still in the boxes and I've learned that many are no longer in production. Also, I have a few Matchbox Collectibles (1/72 scale?) of Spitfire, P-40 Warhawk, F6F Hellcat, P-51 Mustang, P-38 Lightning and F4U Corsair that came out a coupla years ago. Dragon's Warbird Series has a few nice ones as well. The only plastic model in my inventory is an F-105 Thunderchief that needs a good home.

I've entered a few but I dont have any photos.

1st was in a local modelshop. An M113 with some VC (Tamiya Japanese) climbing all over it and a UH-1 flying overhead :D All in 1/35th scale.

2nd was a year later and had an M113 and an M577 in convoy.

3rd one was a GW Giant that I painted for a friend. He entered it in my name into a British Forces Germany comp and I won 3rd prize. I still have the certificate.
