Nice looking but it look like holiwood production
Actualy i doubt that F-18 can match MIG-29 in doggfigt coz fulcrum is pure fighter plane, and F-18 is multyrole, mainly for ground attack.

The Swiss F-18c/d's are Dedicated to the air defence role, this has led to the 'A' designation in F/A18 being dropped to distinguish its primary task.

But, you know, Sinissia, the most important thing still is pilot skill. Maybe the F18 pilot was more skilled than the Mig pilot.

Hmmm doesn't that contradict each other....replacing an interceptor with full air-to air capability (F-14) with a "lesser" capable aircraft (F/A-18E/F)

But maybe the Super Hornet is just so much Multi-Roll it can do all jobs good but not great :-?

The German MiG-29s that fought against pretty much every European and North American airforces tought a few lessons about the plane and its capabilities.

The Finns concluded (iirc) it something like this:"In BWR they're less capable than Finnish Hornets, in WVR they get the edge with HMCS and AA-11 Archer, but suffer from short legs and poor handling capabilities/high pilot workload." Not surprisingly JHMCS and Aim-9x was funded for Finnish ADF Hornet MLU the next year...

In that case, why did the US Navy replace all it's Tomcats? It could have kept some, just in case an air superiority fighter came looking for a fight. Sometimes, good is not good enough. If I ever get to be a carrier air boss, if a Su 37 comes along, and the only fighters I have are Hornets, I'm sending my entire air wing up to intercept.

maybe because they dont want to clutter there carriers with outdated planes? just a thought. I dont know why. Also the Raptor is coming in so maybe thats replacing the F-14.....

    just my 2 sense

Don't let the propaganda fool you. The F/A 18 can handle any potential adversary. Too much is often made of the weapons platform (the aircraft itself) . The key is the weapons systems, radar, targeting, guidance, ECM etc.
    plus the guns and missiles.

Actualy F-14 is expencive plane per flying hour.It is just more economic to use f-18,and as i sayed, doggfigts will not be primary thing in air combats, but it will be present.
