i thought it was a problem with the trigger that it could go off even with the safety on.

Welcome to the forum D90, nice choices!

I personally think the "gangster" or M1928 Thompson is far uglier than the military version, because of the huge and overly heavy drum magazine and the second pistol grip. Does that really improve the weapon by the way?

no but it was how the weapon was origiinally designed, then latter came the M1A1 which was alter to take vertical mags and had a cocking haddle on the side instead of the top plus they got rid of the verticle foregrip to make it less bulky

Heck! ! it looks geeat! By the way, the Luger was such a hot item after Versailles that Vickers decided to take advantage of this: since weapons production was forbidden to Germany, Vickers manufactured a copy of the Luger without the benefit of a license-it was sold in some numbers-some went to the Netherlands, and others went to the police of several British-owned railway lines in Argentina..I believe they were designated Mod. 1925..
My favorite weapons? Browniing Hi-Power 9 mm, Colt 1911A1, M14, and the home-made cross-bow l recenbly used to dispatch another bear :smok: :bang:

    favorite guns

My favorite weapons are the M-1 rifle for over 300 meters, the Car-15 for under 300 meters, especially if I was in a vehicle, and, although not man-portable, taking a M-60 tank through tank gunnery was a rush.

    Woohoo! :D

My favorite is the one I'm shooting at the time. ;)

    Among those are M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M1903, M1917 rifle, Mauser K98k, Mosin-Nagant Model 1944, 2 No.4 Mk.1* Lee Enfields, 3 .22lr rifles, 2 12ga shotguns, 2 long range target rifles (Savage), 2 hunting rifles (Savage), 1 lever action rifle (Marlin), and 3 pistols.

What I want: U.S. Krag rifle, French MAS 36, Italian Carcano, Japanese Arisaka.

I like the Browning Hi-power, having used one of these on a pistol range and thoroughly enjoyed shooting with it, the SA-80/L85A1 is also a very pleasant weapon to shoot with.

I dislike revolvers, don't know why I just don't like shooting with them, and I dislike shotguns, for the same reason as revolvers, plus they just seem much more random somehow.

One that get's frequently overlooked which I have not had the pleaseure of using is the Austen, don't know if it's been mentioned, but apparently a very good SMG.

I recently had a chance to fire a replica M1A1 Thompson airsoft (see pic), great fun on auto! I'd always assumed that the .45 calibre would have been very effective in close combat but in an article by a veteran WWII Soviet tank commander he recalled an incident in which 2 tankers had an argument and 1 fired his Thompson at close range into the chest of another. Apparently the bullets failed to penetrate the thick quilting of the lucky recipient and he was unharmed! This sounds unlikely but does sound similar to stories of 9mm rounds having good stopping power but poor penetration. Any thoughts?

Favourite LMG must be the Bren; accurate, reliable and almost a trademark of British and Commonwealth troops. Here's a pic of me posing with 1 on an AA mount.

There are many myths about slow bullets and heavy clothing.
I won't try to slow a bullet with my coat :D
