subtitled The World War II Battle That Saved Marine Corps Aviation

About the first Marine aviators who landed and fought on Guadalcanal - has anyone read this? Opinions? Thinking of it for a gift for a fellow history lover. Thanks.

The title confuses me. "Starvation Island" was the nickname the Japanese frequently use for Guadacanaru. Their logistics chain was pitiful.
