    Hello to all!
I'm beginning a serie of posts regarding the many relics a french guy,François, has discovered and keeps on discovering.
François is a "kind of lamberjack" and works in the wood,so he knows lot of places and lot of people,hehehe...
Let's begin with this wonder..No need to say that it is not the kind of item you will shout everywhere here in France"hey, look at what someone gave me!!"

So François recently worked for a farmer girl to help her to locate a lost item in a field, and discussing after that around a cup of coffe(and probably a glass of Calvados[IMG]),she told him:
"the father recovered after the war a rifle. It's still there, better be in your hands than in the grain reserve, wait for..."
She came back with this unique "time patined" rifle!
A wonder, can you figure out my friend's face?
There are still this kinda stories here in Normandy.Somes are legends, this one is real.

    Now,what about some tanks,half tracks,motorcycles related parts?
The best of you will recognize Sherman track parts,Harley Davidson parts,M3 halftrack 50cal gun mount part, mortar tails and many more.
Marksmann badge is brand new despite of more than 6 decades in the soil, and Francois was able to track Mr Newhouse until 2007.If anybody here wants to help....If an dress is spotted, the dog tag will probably be sent back.

As you are, without a doubt ,more professionnal than us,feel free to identify the parts,as too,to try to trace the descendants of the GI's...

That's quite a collection, sebfrench76. Thanks for posting it. I look forward to the comments by some of our members who are more experienced in the area of militaria.

The eyelids (1 cm rivets) belonged to U.S. tents.
