Just curious, I've noticed in the last week many instances in which the forum "locks up". Sometimes it occurs when trying to access the forum, access a particular post, or upon login. The lock up looks like either the internet connectivity to it has failed (no response) or the screen blanks and doesn't come back.

Too many users at one time ?

    Cheers

    BW

I too have notice a problem in the last few days. Here in the UK I am alright up to about 4pm then I notice the boards become very slow and posting is impossible and the Internet error comes up. So far mornings are fluid and all is well but as said, latter in the day its like I am fighting a loosing battle in the thick syrup.

Yep i've noticed the same problem. Usually it begins to occur at around the point where there are 500+ people cruising the various areas of the forum.

Curse on you hydromel drinking Norman :D

I had a few problems too, but I just came back later and things improved . I had the interet error page several times, but also postings that got duplicated.

The problem seems to be with the forum and not a more wide thing. Measured speeds etc when I get the problem..Able to acces other sites and test sites without problem, only ww2 forums gives timeouts.

Too popular by half....its a good thing.. Personally I blame Richard, he's doomed the place.

I encounter the problem here, too. That's the main reason I haven't been able to participate in the forum as often as I wanted in the past few days.

I am surprised you guys have only just noticed! Its been happening for a while now, and having talked to Otto when it first began to occur, it is not an 'overloaded' issue.

As Otto explained it to me, traffic on this Forum has been pretty usual as per previous instances. However, Otto believes it has something to do with the service-provider/Server Company that hosts the Forums.

If I find out more, I will let you know and of course Otto might rear his (ugly) head in here with a word or two about what is going on.

    ;)

I also point you to this thread: http://www.ww2f.com/wwii-forums-news/30818-outages-latency.html#post376831

I consulted with Mussolini and Otto seems to think that the problem is with the host

    hi.
i am not actually shoched,if it is a melt down cause of so many users at one time. have you notice that this is one of the most busiest ww2 forums? it is always busy (which is more fun to be on ;)) probelry the most popular forum aswell going by the how many visits this forum gets.
Think this forum is doing well for how many memebers/user and visitors that visit here.
I have been on some forums with couple of hundreds of members and the forum can't even cope with that.
