This barril was found in a crashed Lancaster in 1944. It was donated to me a few weeks ago.

Note the WD marking and 1940 date. The cammo is sand which could be surprising for a Lancaster, but considering this was inside the aircraft, it was not uncommon at all. What i don't know is what was inside (Oil, fuel, water ? ) any clues?

Note the exceptionnal condition of this relic. Not to mention I know the crash site and the crew to which it belonged.
