One of our members on the sister site WW2Talk.com posted this image of French Air Force personnel in Dunkirk 1940. Can anyone identify the unit denoted by the star on the mudguard? Any further info would be welcome too. Thanks. Click image to make it bigger.

Wessex, I spent some time looking up French army insignia's and I haven't found it yet. However I found the list of fighter squadron insignas listed and it was not on it. So at least you can narrow your search. I will ask my friends.
I have friends who are both collectors and reenactors who might be able to hep. i've seen this symbol before.
