My Great Grandpa was in the Navy. Wish I could gather up some more information regarding what ship he was on, but there were some interesting stories. He was sent out to the Pacific for the sake of attacking the ships of the Japanese. Unfortunately, an underwater missile hit their ship and began to sink! They were just off the coast of 'Blue Beach' though, and the Filipinos there helped bring them food and assistance. It's funny too, that my Mom, who was still a kid, only lived about 10 minutes away from that place. Very Coincidental!
