General Amedeo Guillet passed away today, aged 101. He was one of the legendary leaders of the war, known as "Italian Lawrence of Arabia" and "Devil Commander". Last year I corresponded with him - just after his 100th birthday, and he signed two photos for me. It's a great loss.
