German Recon Jet Downed by Quad Fifties

My Dad was in the 2nd AD. He said that later in the war, a German jet would come over every morning like clockwork, evidently taking pictures. He said one morning they had two quad-fifty AA trucks waiting for him and splattered him all over the field. He said a bunch of the guys went out to look at the wreckage but he wasn't interested.

Anybody know anything about the incident? I'm trying to find my Dad's late-war unit.
