... mind you - some philsophers might argue that, as the human race is a part of nature, and, as that part of planet earth's fauna which is called the human race has a tendancy towards self destruction - then the damage caused by humans is, in fact, a form of natural disaster.

    :)

One of the many reasons why I tend to dislike philosophers. ;)

The great American philosopher/comedian of the 1930s. He was killed in a plane crash with Wiley Post.

I remember an old episode of All in the Family where Archie and one of his wife's friends argued over who had the biggest influence in ww2: FDR or MacCarthur.. Archie took the side of MacCarthur and his wife's friend took the side of FDR. For those who dont know what FDR means its the abbreviation for Franklin D Roosevelt

Not sure about anywhere else but in the US (particulary the South) it is somewhat of a tradition to give a male child a middle name that was also a name of a parent, grandparent or the mother's maiden name.

My middle name is Pierce. It is my father's middle name and his mother's maiden name.

You wouldn't be the first to call me Hawkeye. When I was growing up, myself and few friends were MASH fans (and still are). Naturally they picked up on it. My oldest friend has blonde hair so I called him Trapper. :D
