    Anyone keeping track of this?

I haven't been paying too much attention, but the riders are starting to protest against the UCI etc.

Apparently on Sunday (yesterday) the circuit they were riding was very dangerous. Cars parked in the middle of the road, traffic islands, etc. I think 3 people crashed, so the riders stopped and got on a microphone saying that the course was too dangerous. Armstrong and Di Luca were the leading forces, and both they and their teams dropped off the back of the pack with 10 miles to go. Armstrong and his team mates are also protesting against Astana (their team) for not being paid in 2 months. They've blotted out the names of their sponsors on their jerseys. Its about time that the riders start to take action against the biased/corrupt cycling governing bodies.

Also, on Saturday, a rider (Pedro Horillo Munoz) fell 60 feet down into a ravine. He was in a Coma for 24 hours but woke up on sunday, able to feel his legs and talk. YouTube - Giro D'Italia 2009 Pedro Horrillo volo 60 metri No image of the crash, but it gives you a good sense of where it happened. He is lucky to be alive.
