Bottom one is a Norman Rockwell, famous for his Americana paintings. The top one is by Jes Wilhelm Schlaikjer, born on a German ship at sea to German parents, he served his new country, the USofA, in WWI. He was appointed as the, War Department Artist in 1942, and had a studio in the Pentagon! The painting you posted is "In the face of obstacles-COURAGE!" a WWII infantry poster. Here it is reused to promote a scrap metal drive. (Yes I am an artwork/artist geek) Here is a link to some of his other paintings: Pritzker Military Museum and Library Search Results - Pritzker Military Archives (oclc.org)
