Great work as always Piers! Love the way the sdkf is equipped, the mortar rounds, mg42 and helmets make the vehicle look superb. Quite impressive! Did you get the email I sent you a few days ago?
Nice one mate. You thought about a Sd Kfz.251/21 (Drilling MG151S)to protect you from Allied air power. Ross
Not to be a bucket of cold water but, did the ausf. A 251 have a /2 variant? And, the MG 42...well, that's possible for a surviving vehicle...
I can't answer that but I suppose it might be possible as a conversion. The true question would be would an Ausf. A survive to so late in the war? We have to bear in mind that WW2 combat vehicles tended to have very short lives, either by going in a blaze of glory, malfunction deemed not repairable for a number of reasons (no parts available, no manpower, vehicle not recoverable, etc) or simple obsolescence. I always shake my head when I see elaborately weathered vehicles, full of rust in strategic plces when they should all be practically brand new! Dirty yes, scuffed yes, rusty no, they wouldn't have the time to accumulate rust.
