    1. Chief Warrant Officer John H Edinger, W2106138, US Army, is released from assignment and duty with the 489th Transportation Battalion, Army Post Office 503 and assigned to Head Quarters 2nd Medical Transportation,Army Post Office 503 and further assigned duty with Troop Movement Division, this Head Quarters, with Permanent Duty Adminstrative Assistant (Military Occupational Specialty 2600) With Pay Permanent Change of Station no travel involved Executive Direction of the Commander 1 December 1949.

The 'W' in his service number denoted that he was a Warrant Officer which is a technician grade between Enlisted and Officer. It means he worked for a living, had limited command of troops and had to be saluted. Not a bad position. APO 503 is the location designation and would indicate that he did not leave the base/ location he was at.
