    Hello all
i am trying to find out more information regarding my grandfathers time in Burma during ww11 & especially around 1945 to 1946.He was sent on a naval party named 2436 between march 45 to Nov 45 .I know this record cannot be opened until 2030 but was wondering what this was for? & why i have pictures of him in the jungle wearing a chief petty officers badge with his naval buddies knowing that was not his rank...would he have been temporarily given this rank for this 1 mission?
lots of qu i know but i only wondered because on his medal card they have written this info on it..Confused!!
many thanks in advance for any information ...
    Richard
