I'll see if I can find something tonight for you, Panzerknacker. A warning though- I would bet that you're going to get a few different candidates, considering the various sources out there...

God! It will be very damned nice to know about it! I am very interested in the Red Army as well. They weren't just too many, but they knew how to fight! ;)

Just remembered to check into his after the problems the forum has had...

Some sources claim it is senior-lieutenant Dmitrij Lavrinenko of 1st Guards Brigade. He fought 28 battles.Three T-34´s of his were burned down.At the day of his death for village of Goruny ( suburb of Volokolamsk )on 17th December 1941,he had shot his 52nd tank. These kills were confirmed.
Dmitrij lavrinenko was not rewarded(?) even after his death.

Another source ( for example George Forty´s "tank action ) mentions Guards captain Konstantin Samokhin, during five months 69 tanks, 13 other AVF´s, 82 guns,117 motor vehicles.Killed on February 23, 1942. The stats or medals on him I did not find yet in the net)

Either of these guys to check into ?

I have one of Forty's other books, Tanks of WW2, and he seems pretty reliable...

Very interesting! Let's see if somebody can come with something new! It'll be great! And I think I will do some research myself...

Theres a pic of him in a book on Kursk that I have. It only shows him with 4 awards--but then again--the pic was taken in 1943. ;)
