I am British by birth but through historic DNA and research into the documents I can trace my bloodline as far back as Mecklenburg on the Baltic in Napoleonic times. I have been interested in World War II since I can ever remember. BBC TV used to broadcast all kinds of war documentaries in the mornings in the early 1950's and some of the faces and uniforms were very familiar to me even as a boy of six. I have an abiding interest in presenting facts and ideas honestly. As a professional translator that is what I am trained to do.

I have been a subscriber to several websites in the past, good and bad, and I know the drill. I came down to these southern waters a quarter of a century ago to do an audit, got married and stayed. It was the U-boat activity down here - since the 1990's denied officially that any such thing ever happened, not on these shores señor! - which I have found most intriguing although nowadays the books I translate are all about panzers.

My best wishes to everybody on the forum and I look forward to seeing it develop.

In 1993 I came down to Argentina and became domiciled there. I translate professionally from German into English for British and American publishers, about 100 books so far over the last thirty years, and I have authored three. I have also translated a couple of books from the Spanish. Thank you for your interest.

I understand the strategic importance of the Volga but not the point of the question. However the answer is no.

The wording of your posts sound vaguely familiar. Don't give it another thought.
    Welcome, BTW.
