Just wanted to make a post and introduce myself to the fellows in this forum. I'm Ty, been circling around the sun for almost 26 years now. I originally come from Ohio, but currently reside in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I've been interested in WW2 for most of my life, especially as a child with all the stories from my Grandpa. I came across this website and am hoping it'll be a fun tool to use in future research. I'm proving myself to be a somewhat okay researcher, so I enjoy it as a hobby now. A current project of mine is tracking down a friend of my Grandpa's that served during the Battle of the Bulge. I came across a recant he had typed up recalling his time in the war. He mentions being apart of the 66th Armored and being a PoW at Stalag 11B (Falingbostel) and working at a gasoline refractory in Misburg outside of Hanover during his time as a PoW. McDermott.pdf The link is the scanned PDF copies of his story. Let me know what you guys think!
