My cousin, who is a friend of the Swenson family, informed me that Harley Swenson passed away on Monday, 30 November 2020 less than one month before his 101st birthday. I have not found an obituary yet, but have put the following short bio together:

Harley Edward Swenson was born in LaBolt, South Dakota on 28 December 1919. He attended high school in Washington DC, and graduated in 1937. During World War II, he served with the 3rd Armored “Spearhead” Division. As a member of B Company of the 32nd Armored Regiment, he fought in France, Belgium, and Germany. Harley was wounded in action for which he received the Purple Heart medal. After the War, Harley attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, and the University of Minnesota. Over the years he has done volunteer work for the VFW, American Legion, and Shriners.

Here is a short video of Harley discussing some of his war experiences (click on "Watch on Vimeo").
