    I remember seeing this show Dogfights and this very same episode..the Hellcat would do just that - bring any and all hell to it's opposition! the Hellcat and Corsair were two of my favorites during those times.

    back in the mid 50s, when I first got into model making? the zero and the spitfire, were 2 of my favs, they just looked cool in design..

    The Zero what it lacked in armor sure made up for it's manuverability too.

    While the lack of armor in the Zero granted it speed and manuverability, that eventually became its undoing. Against a plane that can match the speed, it was at a disadvantage because the hellcat would have better armor and armament. Even so, they're still hard to shoot down if you find a determined enough pilot.
