My name is Hans. Being registered as PropCollector in several other fora, I thought I had to, finally, also enter this fine ww2f forum I collect ww2 aerial propaganda leaflets for over 20 years now. It is my main interest. In the past I did alot of searching with metal detectors in the Netherlands. After an accident a friend of mine had, I stopped that completely and I am now only 'doing' (propaganda) paper stuff. As a member of the 'Psywar Society' and of the 'Dutch Documentation Group 40-45', I get requests for information several times a year. This ended sometimes in my (small) assistance in a few books on ww2. So if anybody has questions on certain airdropped or shelled propaganda leaflets, just let me know. If I can help, I will...
Hello Hans! Welcome! Actually I was wondering if you happened to have a pic/copy of the "famous" German leaflet in the Italian front where the snail´s speed was compared to the Allied advance?
I believe that Rick Atkinson's book "Day of Battle" has that very propaganda sheet in the photo section! Would you like me to scan it for you, K-P??? And welcome Hans! I have found this forum to be informative, challenging, and fun! Hope you enjoy it!
Welcome. So many wre dropped over your country from all sides, can't wait to see your scans of these. Enjoy the forum!
K-P wrote: "If you have that propaganda pic I´d definitely like to see it!! Many thanx!" I hope this is the leaflet! It is mocking the Allies slow crawl up the Italian "Boot". Note that they estimate 1952 as to when the Allies might reach Berlin!
Hello Hans! Welcome to the forum. You will enjoy your time here and I have already enjoyed your posts. Please continue to post scans of the propaganda leaflets when you have the time! Cheers!
Thanx Texson66! Unfortunately there is no snail but it is a great one as well. Thanx alot for sending it!
