Hello everyone! I'm doing research on my grandfather's history and experience during WWII. I've recently inherited a bunch of his memorabilia and am producing a podcast on his story. He was on a B-24 Liberator during Operation Tidal Wave. Robert T. Locky, SSGT 9th AF, 93rd Bombardment Group, 339th Bomb Squadron He was shot down near Ogrezeni Romania. He was given medical attention at a hospital in Brasov. He spent 13 months at POW camp Timisul de Jos just south of Brasov. I plan on visiting Romania in 2 weeks. I'm looking for any help on the matter, specifically if there are any historians, veterans, or locals in any of these Romanian locations that would be willing or able to sit down for an interview or discussion on Operation Tidal Wave and the experience of the POW's involved. I'm glad to be here!
Give us the serial number of the aircraft and the Bomb Group and Squadron he was in, and we should be able to do wonders. Completely hidden from view, immediately beside it is the Advanced Database Search button. (The Admin has been contacted to fix this.) It is a box, exactly the same size. Click on it and then you can do much tighter searches into topic areas that interest you. That's the way to get topic titles exactly on task for you. You'll find heaps of good threads that way.
