Hello all, just dropping in to say hello and explain why i have joined this forum. I live in somerset and myself and my sons are trying to trace any U.S ARMY units,regiments,airforce sqds stationed in or around somerset prior to the d-day landings. We know many parartroopers flew from airfields in dorset and devon and are trying to follow what happened to them up to the end of the war. Maybe i have come to the best place to get on the trail of some real hero's who we owe much for todays freedom.
Hello bob, very interesting to read what you and your family do, can you give us an idea as to how far you have got with this project? Do you work on anyone paticular soldier or do you work just on local information? Welcome to war44 btw. :thumb:
