I am Anthony, i am here to try to get help with finding out as much as I can about TBM Avenger Dissolved Squadrons. My grandfather was a Turret gunner and radioman on an Avenger and I’m trying to figure out what squadron he was in. I have pictures of his plane but I can’t exactly Identify what escort carrier besides the hollandia he was on.

He was a ARM 3/L. He got drafted Jan. 6 1944, went to bootcamp Jan. 13 1944 at Crept Lakes Naval Training Center and Boot Camp. He was on the USS Hollandia twice. Once during service and then his transfer to the reserves for his ride home on Aug. 1st 1945. Transfer paper says V6 USNR Transfer to Air Group 99. Discharged in Nov. 5 1945 in Bremerton Washington. His crew was pilot Gardo, Radioman Frtizman.
