Why do you think it is related to WW2 and the Phillipines; how did you come by it?

It belongs to a friend of a friend. It was her husband who is now deceased. She reports that he was in the US Navy, served during WW2, and traveled all over the world. She was unsure of what the ring was and believed it to be related to his time in WW2 or just after in the Philippines. But, she was unsure.

    Thanks.

Hard telling much about it. Is there a picture of the inside? Usually that is where there will be a maker's mark or proof stamp. Chances are that it was local artisan made, they were still making rings and trinkets when I was there in the late 80's / early 90's.

It does not appear to me "militaria" in the general sense, as it does not look like it was produced for military purposes or for military adornment. It may very well be from the war era but it's association to the war would be tied to the owner's acquiring it from civilian sources overseas.
