Help Identifying British Helmet

Since there's so much knowledge in this forum, I though Id post the photos here.

Recently came across this British WW2 Helmet. I'm thinking its authentic but I'm curious about the liner.

It appears to be made of some rubbery substance. To me, it looks as though it is unoriginal to the helmet.

Ive searched for any interior stamps or marking and none found.

Does anyone have any insight?

I hope everyone will excuse this completely off topic post but .... I noticed you sig. Haven't seen any mention of you book on the forum yet. We do have sub forums devoted to such works. Also isn't "fictional novella" redundant?

Ive been meaning to post in the book sub forum, but unfortunately, I've been busy working on the book. Plus, I was waiting until I have it on Amazon - little less than 2 months away.
