I am after both sides Framert, the Russkies and the Germans!

My bossman has decided he wants to refight Prokhorovka in 10mm and has left it to me to find out what we need! Boy do I have alot of tanks to paint...

What I need are the units and numbers of vehicles/troops/AT guns etc.

So I know how many to order from the makers!

I'm doing a Soviet OOB right now. It will take a couple more days to complete. Whoever is the Soviets, I hope they'er building some T60A's and T70's as there are alot running around.
If you want a German OOB that's much easier to do so, I'll leave it for later if you still want one.
I also suggest Ponryi, Elefants and Brummbärs galore!

    Thats great T.A!!!!

Send me anything you got! I need to build a detailed OOB for both sides before I can then convert it over to the army lists...

I am doing both the Germans AND Russians...

I like the idea of refighting Ponryi...

The Soviet OOB is at 15 pages and growing for just the Central, Voronezh and, Steppe Fronts. I'm still trying to sort out a couple of the Rifle Armies as they are not that well documented.

2nd Tank Army General Lieutenant A. G. Rodin

11th Guards Tank Brigade Colonel Bubnov 65 T34
    130th Antitank Regiment
    563rd Antitank Regiment
    357th Separate Engineer Battalion

    3rd Tank Corps General Sinekov
    50th Tank Brigade Colonel Konovalov 32 T34 + 21 T60A
    51st Tank Brigade Lt. Col. Kokurin 32 T34 + 21 T60A

    234th Mortar Regiment
    881st Antitank Regiment
    121st Antiaircraft Regiment
    728th Antitank Battalion
    74th Motorcycle Battalion
    90th Motorized Engineer Sapper Battalion

    7th Guards Mechanized Corps
    24th Guards Mechanized Brigade + 13th Tank Regiment 32 T34 + 7 T70

    57th Guards Tank Brigade 32 T34 + 21 T70

    16th Tank Corps General Grigorev
107th Tank Brigade Lt. Col. Teliakov
109th Tank Brigade Lt. Col. Babkovsky

I haven't forgot you Red Baron, just my source[ Kursk by M.Barbier] doesn't list any numbers, just units. Gardner's list is what you're looking for although it looks a bit big just for the Prokhorovka battle. [IMG]

It's worse than that Za; the Soviet one is up to 30 pages now. I think I have about 90 - 95% of it. I'm missing a couple of rifle corps I'm positive must of been there based on the rifle divisions assigned to certain armies but have been unable to identify at this point. And, of course, there are probably numerous independent battalion sized units I missed as well (those are alot harder to pin down).
The unit above was one of the major counter attack armys at Ponryi as an FYI.
The more I look at what the Soviets had at Kursk, it's a wonder the Germans got as far as they did! When you add in the Western and SouthWestern Fronts (which I am not including in the current OOB) for the Soviet counter offensive, you realize the Germans had lost the war in the East. It was just a matter of how long until the Soviets won.
Oh, if you want to pay a researcher at the Library of Congress they have a series of original Soviet classified maps (the CIA stamps kind of hint at their orgin) of the Kursk battlefield at 1:50,000 including some being marked with the initial positions down to battalion of the Soviet defenses.

This is the Soviet Corps that counterattacked into the flank of II SS Pz Korps, with 3nd SS Totenkopf taking the brunt of the blow, at Prokhorovka. This unit initially was part of the Steppe Front and in reserve. It's initial committment was at this point in the battle.

Red just remember that the 2nd W-SS Das Reich was not equipped with Panthers until their defence of the Mius where they kicked Soviet Butt with them in August of the year 1943. I'll let T.A. answer the II. W-SS Pz Korps materials and if he cannot I will hunt it down for you.

heres a fun tid bit from the Tiger Kompanie in 2nd W-SS D.R.

    1 July 1943, 14 Tiger 1's

    Stab had S01 and S02

    S11, 12, 13, 14
    S21, 22, 23, 24
    S31, 32, 33, and 34

after Kursk it was refitted to make a total of 20 Tiger 1's with 5 Tigers in each Zug

No, that's about a quarter of what the Soviets had at Prokhorovka. If you want me to just concentrate on that battle instead of the whole operation I can.
