Help Needed! I am looking to identify this airplane part! Scope?? Optic??

    Hello, I recently found this part with a batch of other WWII airplane parts including a dated plane ignition. I have no clue to what it is. If anyone has an idea to what it is, plane? function? Thank you.

    Looks like a landing light.

    The end with the two small holes was for the power line. Mounted under the wings or under the fuselage in front of the landing gear. It's angled down so the light would shine on the runway instead of off into space. The little light behind the big one would be for other planes to see where this aircraft was located in relation to their own. On some planes those light pulsed at regular intervals to ID the aircraft as a flight leader or such.
