Could somebody please help me to find out some info on my great uncle ? His name was Albert Goldsbrough born 1919 in Sedgefield Co Durham. He was in the Seaforth Highlanders that were captured at St Valery during the Dunkirk retreat. A relative seems to think that Albert spent the rest of the war as a pow somewhere in Poland. Any info on Albert would be greatly appreciated as the sketchy details mentioned are all that we know about him.
    Thanks for reading.
    Regards.

Hello he probably spent his time in a Stalag. If you find out which ones were in what is nowadays Poland you may try to track listings there.

Here is a start for your research with district comprising Poland

Hi, thanks for the reply, from what I know it would seem that Albert was in Stalag XX-A as he was captured at St Valery with the 51st Highland Division. Is there any way of finding a list of prisoners that were at the pow camp ? Thanks again for your help.
    Regards.
