Once again we dive deep into Italian war cinema, and we have another Klaus Kinski cameo appearance to add some cache to a otherwise forgettable film. This film has two main faults beyond the usual problems of bad dubbing, silly plot, continuity issues and clunky dialog. The movie has a identity problem, it can't seem to decide what it wants to be about. The first third is a story about PoW's in a Colditz style prison, the middle is a partisan film and the final third is the typical commando caper.

The second issue is unforgivable in a action war film, It's largely boring, especially in the first 2/3's of the movie. Kinski doesn't appear till the final third of the movie and even then has only a few lines of dialog, and spends much of his screen time drugged.

Thankfully this is the last spaghetti war movie in this collection, and while none of them was great, or even good, it should be acknowledged that I have seen some decent ones.
